The students from iC2 PrepHouse and their caregivers had a fun time learning basic soap making knowledge and handcrafting soap at Sugar and Spice workshop. Using 100% pure essential oils, natural colourants and mould designs, the participants enjoyed themselves layering and designing soap during the two-hour session. Four students from iC2 PrepHouse participated in a yarn art workshop conducted by Artz Grainè Studio of Kreative Artz. During the workshop, the students explored how colours, lines and music can affect their moods and translated them into creative expression with the use of yarn. iC2 would like to extend our appreciation to Dr Audrey Pang Yuan Ching for the sponsorship of the workshop.

The Safari Zoo Run was conceived to commemorate Singapore Zoo’s famous matriarch and one of Singapore’s most loved animal personalities — Ah Meng the Sumatran orangutan. Students from iC2 PrepHouse and their family members had a fun-filled experience participating in the 4km walk through Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Night Safari. We would like to express our gratitude to Macquarie Group Services (Singapore) Pte. Limited as iC2’s participation in this event is made possible with their generous donation to us last year.

Teacher Natasha and Teacher Alyssa conducted an awareness workshop for 11 student leaders from Zheng Hua Secondary School. This workshop is arranged by the school to assist the students in the preparation of their upcoming VIA (Values-in Action) project in May. The topics covered during the workshop include information on iC2 PrepHouse, knowledge on visual impairment and hands-on training on being a sighted guide. The participants also took part in activities such as obstacle course and blind-fold soccer.

During a tactile resource making workshop, volunteers have helped in the production of tactile resources catered to the learning needs of the students of iC2 PrepHouse.

iC2 PrepHouse’s vision teacher Lay Hong conducted an awareness talk at National University Hospital (NUH) for the staff to know more about our organisation and the work we do.
