iC2 PrepHouse conducting an awareness talk on Low Vision and our services to children and young adults with vision impairments to the staff from UniSim. A special thanks to them for their help in creating tactile resources for our students.

iC2 PrepHouse was involved in the first IT and assistive technology Forum in Singapore – E2 Connect. E2 Connect was organised by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and supported by SG Enable and SPD. From this forum, healthcare professionals, employers, educators, caregivers, researchers and academics will discover how technology can enable, empower and connect people with disabilities in all aspects of their lives including education, employment and interaction with others.

Mary, our principal trainer, conducting a sighted-guide presentation and some hands-on activities for the volunteers from Qlik. Thereafter, they were joined by some of our students with visual impairments to discover Haji Lane before proceeding to a unique dinning experience at Nox – which was sponsored by Qlik and organized by Big Heroes. A big thank-you indeed!

Be entertained, inspired and encouraged! As a welcome opening during our iC2 Day, we were entertained with a guitar performance, My Heart Will Go On, by one of our student. Thereafter, our invited panel of speakers; Dennis Sim, Fiona Toh, Peter Lim, Tan Siew Ling and Vignesh Ponnusamy each shared with our parents and students realistic and positive information about future employment and contribution to the community. After the sharing session, we were entertained once again with a singing performance, Imagine, by one of our student. The whole event was wrapped up with our Chairman, Asst Prof Wong Meng Ee presenting to each of our invited speaker a token gift of our appreciation.

Edu-tainment at Kidzania event was sponsored by Grand Hyatt Singapore and organized by Big Heroes for our students of 12 years old and below. The employees of Kidzania had offered to guide our students in exploring different job profiles which could spark a possible interest in exploring a wide range of opportunities and possibilities. Our students had a fabulous time indeed!

Our Teens Konnect! session 2016 June Holiday Programme had provided a brand new experiment for our teens! With the patience guidance from our teachers and a safe and friendly environment, our teens had a personal hands-on on making their own bread and vegetable soup for lunch. It was indeed an exciting discovery experience for them.
