2015 World Glaucoma Day at Tan Tock Seng Hospital

iC2 PrepHouse Limited was invited to participate in the Eye Health Fair at TTSH Atrium on 13 Mar 2015. Jointly organised by the National Eye Institute and TTSH, the Eye Health Fair was a great opportunity to build awareness of Glaucoma and other eye ailments and the work iC2 PrepHouse does to help children and youth with visual impairment integrate into mainstream society.

2015 Chinese New Year Prosperity Lo Hei

iC2 PrepHouse hosted a Prosperity Lo Hei for parents, donors, volunteers and well-wishers from other social service organisations on 28 February 2015. We had a total of 33 people attending the session.

2015 Parents’ Support Group

Nine parents attended the inaugural Parents’ Support Group at iC2 PrepHouse Centre. Among the topics discussed and presented were:

  1. “Orthoptists are Eye Therapists” by Ms Joanne Hambrett, a qualified orthoptist from Australia.
  2. How parents around the world have come together to support each other.
  3. Initiatives in mainstream education for inclusiveness of children with disabilities.
  4. What professional counselling services are available in Singapore.

2015 World Braille Day

iC2 PrepHouse Limited commemorated World Braille Day with a small inhouse exhibition showcasing the lifestory of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille system of writing, and the advances made in the technology for producing reading materials in Braille.

2014 December Kids Konnect

The Inaugural Kids Konnect! Holiday Programme was conceived to provide an avenue for our children with visual impairments to socialise in a non-threatening environment and, through cooperative and educational activities, learn and practice life skills such as preparing their own simple meals.

2014 Christmas Party

National University of Singapore’s Students’ Community Service Club approached iC2 Prep House Limited to organise a Christmas Carnival Party as part of their annual Grant-A-Wish project. The NUSSCSC canvassed for student volunteer in NUS who donated gifts for the students and were involved in the activities planned for the Carnival. Our students had a great time!
