From August 6-8 and 12-14, 2024, teachers from iC2 attended the Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) Course, which was conducted by world-renowned professionals in the field, Prof John Ravenscroft and Ms Elizabeth McCann.

Course participants included ophthalmologists, as well as speech, occupational, and physical therapists, along with teachers of students with special needs.

Surrounded by our dedicated sponsors, donors, partners, family, friends, and beneficiaries, we were reminded of the incredible support that fuels our mission. This shared commitment made the evening possible.
The night featured standout moments, including a thrilling live auction of six exclusive, sponsored items that ignited lively bidding wars. The excitement continued with a raffle draw offering 14 extraordinary, sponsored prizes keeping the energy high and spirits high. The event was further elevated by a vibrant band performance from our beneficiaries and supporters, infusing the evening with positive energy and joy.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the iC2 SHINE Gala 2024. Your unwavering support continues to illuminate lives, and we look forward to achieving greater things together.
2024 iC2 Parent Support Group (PSG)
On 20th July 2024, the Parent Support Group main committee brought the parents together for their second event of the year. This event is a sharing session led by Lynn (Mother of Charlotte), Pauline and Dennis (Parents of Rommel).
They kindly made time out of their hectic schedules to share about their personal journeys with their visually impaired children. The parents shared openly and candidly about each of their journeys with Charlotte and Rommel. The sharing session was followed by a Q&A session.
It was a fruitful and engaging session for all who attended, as there was a good sharing and exchange of knowledge and advice from some of the more experienced parents. It is the hope of the Parent Support Group that through such interactions and conversations, parents can offer each other greater encouragement and support in their respective journeys with their visually impaired children. It also gives them the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences.

2024 Coding Workshop
This March holiday, in collaboration with CodeAsOne, our students attended a 2-day coding workshop and created their own audio-focused retro arcade game, designed to be playable for the visually impaired individuals! CodeAsOne is a community service that aims to build an inclusive STEM/ Coding/ Robotics education for every child from all walks of life. Through the workshop, our students learnt about basic coding skills, and how some mathematical concepts (e.g., coordinates, velocity) come into play in coding. We look forward to organising more of such workshops for our students to experience.
