iC2 PrepHouse just wrapped up the first dinner of our inaugural Fundraising Dinner Série 2023.

Unlike our large-scale biennial gala dinners, this Fundraising Dinner Série involves the hosting of four smaller, intimate dinners over the course of 2023. We embarked on this project in March and hoped to engage with donors and share with them our mission to help families cope with a difficult disability. Ultimately, we aim to provide an opportunity where donors and supporters of iC2 PrepHouse will be able to interact with like-minded folks and learn more about the charity they are supporting, in the hopes that they will continue to do so in the future.

As such, we collaborated with the local award-winning restaurant, Blue Smoke, to host our first dinner on 24 May 2023. Our kind donors and board members who attended had a wonderful time over great food and meaningful conversation.

All in all, we would like to thank our kind donors and the Team at Blue Smoke for making the night such a memorable one.

On 27 May 2023 Saturday afternoon, 1 iC2 student and his father joined the Soundball Singapore for a taster programme at the MOE (Evans) Active SG tennis courts. It lasts for an hour and they got to see a regular Soundball session with the rest of the players and volunteers. As more students are travelling during this period, iC2 and Soundball Singapore will plan for more regular sessions during term time to attract more students.

Three iC2 students and their caregivers attended a learning journey at the newly opened Punggol Regional Library on 26 May 2023. They were introduced to the space and tried out new services and resources (e.g., braille books, audio books, sensory toys) for persons with visual impairment. Parents also took part in a focus group discussion at the end of the tour to provide feedback on the experience.

Project IGNITUS presents “Why is Mother Earth Sick?” for Kids Konnect on 11 March 2023. Four iC2 students and their siblings joined us in exploring what climate change means through an interactive skit and a card game designed by the team of volunteers. Aside from learning sustainable lifestyle habits, everyone made new friends! Thank you, Project IGNITUS for the fun-filled day of learning.

On 11 March 2023, six students from iC2 PrepHouse took part in the 3^rd Junior and Youth Athletics Meet organised by Para Athletics Singapore. A total of 136 participants of varying disabilities from 10 schools and special schools took part in the Meet at Temasek Polytechnic.

Our students performed well in the meet garnering a total of 5 Golds, 3 Silvers and 3 Bronzes.

A big congratulations to all our winners!

It was Eliot Yeo’s first time taking part in this competition held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre on Saturday, 4 March 2023. He swam to two gold medals in the boys’ 100m and 50 Freestyle S13 Category.

There was a total of 65 swimmers from different special schools and clubs participating in 19 events in the various categories.

Eliot also managed to catch up with fellow iC2 swimmer, Colin Soon, at the same meet.
