2022 10th Anniversary Gala
“Shine Like A Diamond” – iC2 Prephouse’s 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner
2022’s gala dinner was a special one – held on 10 November at Four Seasons Singapore, it brought together our donors, partners, family, friends and beneficiaries as we marked a decade of iC2’s contributions to the visually impaired community in Singapore.
We were graced by Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliament Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Social and Family Development, who graciously attended the event as our Guest of Honour. Highlights of the evening included an auction of a beautiful hand-polished Onyx gem vinyl cuff with a 0.15ct Diamond by An Order of Bling, and performances by beneficiaries and supporters of iC2 Prephouse.
The team at iC2 would like to extend a special thanks to all who made the night so spectacular!
2022 iC2 Sports Awards and Appreciation Day
Today, after a break during the pandemic, we return to iC2 to honour and show appreciation to the athletes from iC2 PrepHouse for their efforts in the two para-athletics meets in 2022. They were the Haw Par Junior and Youth Athletics Meet on 12 March and the PACER Meet (2nd Edition) on 25 June. Eight athletes from iC2 participated in both meets bringing back a combined total of:
13 Golds
5 Silvers
1 Bronze
Cash awards (vouchers) were given to our medal winners together with a certificate of appreciation for all. Tokens of appreciation, a limited-edition Singapore Merlion badge and water bottle from the Singapore National Paralympic Council, were given to the attendees at this event. We had our very own Paralympian, swimmer Sophie Soon, to present the awards to our winders, and the tokens of appreciation were presented to all attendees by our out-going Executive Director, Jamuna Rani Govindaraju. A special guest appearance by Guide Dog, Orinda, attracted a lot of laughter and joy from our young athletes.
Congratulations to all winners and a deep appreciation to all participants!

2022 September Kids Konnect X NHB
My Tale to Tell is a two-day multi-sensorial heritage programme organised by HeritageCares, an accessibility initiative by National Heritage Board (NHB). Twelve students from iC2 PrepHouse went through a series of activities using different senses to develop their interpretation of “What is Singapore Heritage?”.
Day 1: Visit to the National Museum of Singapore
We had eight volunteers to facilitate the visits to three exhibitions in the National Museum of Singapore – Growing Up Gallery, Story of the Forest, and Off/On: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s-200s. They also had a short tour around Fort Canning Park to smell different spices and herbs used in cooking. For teatime, our students were served local kueh, which they absolutely enjoyed!
Day 2: Traditional Games of Singapore
Our students played traditional games with each other using toys like marbles, kuti kuti, sepak takraw, and paper balls. These games were modified to create accessibility and enhance their playing experience. We wrapped the two-day programme with the sharing of student’s reflections on what heritage means to them.
2022 Parents’ Support Group Sharing
It was a parent-and-child sharing session by Matthew and his mum, Geraldine. Geraldine spoke about Matthew’s diagnosis and how the family took pro-active steps to ensure Matthew is fully and appropriately supported in all areas of needs: cognitive, language, physical and social-emotional. Geraldine shared parenting tips, focusing on positive Parent-Child Relations (PCR). This is not just applicable to parenting children with visual impairment but applicable in all parenting situations. Matthew shared about self-advocacy and also his original music composition!
2022 PACER Meet
PACER Meet 25 June 2022
Choa Chu Kang Stadium
The early morning rain did not dampen the spirits of our young athletes taking part in the PACER Meet organised by Para Athletics Singapore. A total of four students took part in the medalled events, participating in both the track and field events. One of our older and more experienced athlete was there to record a good time for and distance for her race and long jump.
All our athletes did well, returning with six gold and two silver medals. Another great haul for iC2 PrepHouse!
Congratulations to all our champions.
